Computer Labs

There are 4 nos. of Computer lab. under LAN system. It is well equipped with Apple computer, Intel Multimedia, Intel P-IV and others. Servers include Acer Altos 900 and Compaq Proliant ML 330 under Windows NT and IBM RS-6000 under AIX operating system and HCL infinity 2765xD. 2 students (max.) are allotted per-terminal for junior classes. For senior and short-term students, one machine is allotted per student. Internet @ 64kbps is available on the LAN through SCPC VSAT from ERNET and @ 128 Kbps from DIAS service of BSNL. Two more additional internet connection (i) 128 kbps bandwidth premium connection through STPI & (ii) Broadband internet connection via satellite link from HughesNet have recently been added.

Analog, Digital & MP Lab

It is equipped with Digital & Analog CROs, signal and function generators, Digital & Analog Multimeters, Experiments on error budgeting, DACs and ADCs are also carried out in this lab. It has Digital Trainer Kits, Microprocessor and Microcontroller Kits, Digital Signal Processing Kits and Softwares for interfacing to Computers.

Communication Lab

This Lab. is well equipped with many TV trainer kits, measuring instruments, Digital CRO, LCQ meter, Wobulloscope, communication Trainer kits, (Analog kits, (Analog & Digital) etc.

Addition of new facilities :

1. Fiber Optic Trainers.

2. Holography Trainer.

3. Optical Power Meter.

4. PCM (Pulse Code Modulation Trainer).

5. Mechanical Splice Kit (Optical Fiber).

6. Colour TV Trainer.

Power Electronics and Test & Measurement Lab

It is well equipped with Programmable coil winding m/c, Trainer kits, many nos. of DC and AC motors and measuring instruments.

Servicing Lab

Servicing and Maintenance of equipments both for inhouse needs and for outside party are also carried out in this Laboratory. It is well equipped with modern servicing equipments such as Tektronics make 100 MHz Digital CRO and current Probe amplifier, PACE make SMD handling instrument, Agilent make 6¹/2 DMM, Universal Programmer Tester, Digital IC Tester (APLAB), Klapp, Weller and HAKO make temperature controlled solder and desolder station, 8 channel logic analyzer etc. It has antistatic workstations placed on antistatic floor.

Mechanical Workshop

It houses Universal Milling m/c, Universal lathe m/c, many no. of centre Lathe m/c including Hobbymate bench Lathe, Radial Drilling m/c, Sensitive Drilling m/c, Grinder, shaping m/c, Slotting m/c, Power hacksaw, bending (folding) m/c, Spot welding m/c, Gullutine Shearing m/c, etc. Moulds and Electronic equipment enclosures are designed and fabricated using CAD (Autocad) Software for outside parties/ customers.

Multimedia Lab

This laboratory is equipped with workstation class Multimedia Computers. The main workstation Xeon Processor is interfaced with Avid Express Pro HD with Mojo and other encoding & decoding devices. The main softwares used are Maya, 3D Studio Max, Macromedia Studio, Macromedia Director, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, Sound Forge, Adobe Audition, Combustion, etc. Consultancies for Video compositing, 2D Film Clips and Interactive Multimedia contents are undertaken in this laboratory.

Embedded System and VLSI Lab

The VLSI and Embedded Systems Lab have various tools (hardware and software). These tools can be used for providing comprehensive training in VLSI Designs and embedded systems. Moreover these are industry standard tools and can be used in developing VLSI circuits and embedded devices. The Lab has the following tools-

PCB Lab

Design and Fabrication of PCBs are done in this Lab. It has all standard equipments (including optical high speed drilling m/c, Vertical Camera etc.) for fabricating single and double sided (non PTH) PCBs. CAD software such as CADSTAR etc. are used for designing complicated PCB layouts.

Medical Electronic Lab :

This laboratory is meant for repairing and maintenance of Electromedical equipments. The centre has trained Service Engineers and Technicians for electromedical equipments like X-Ray, ECG, EEG, Defib Analyser, USG, etc.

The centre has repaired some electromedical equipments for hospitals in Manipur.

Objective :

(i) To set up a laboratory to carry out repair, maintenance and calibration of Medical Electronics equipments of Govt. Hospitals in Imphal.

(ii) To conduct training courses for technicians on Repair & Maintenance of Medical Electronic equipments.

Library

This Library has more than 9012 volumes of books on Electronics, Computer and allied fields. 23 nos. of journals are subscribed per year including 6 nos. of international journals such as IEEE, ACM etc. Catalogue and issue /receipt operation are computerized using inhouse software, SMART LIBRARY. Uninterrupted Internet facility is available in the library since our Institution has already installed V-Sat. Library is also connected to DELNET (Developing Library Network) which is the Networked Library of All Technical Institution of India.
